  • Post OLM Training | Techniques for Hip Impingement [ASK ERIC]

Post OLM Training | Techniques for Hip Impingement [ASK ERIC]

Here are the questions I answer in today’s QnA video:

Hey Coach. Compliment: I really like OLMC.

You did a really good job putting it together. It is a phenomenal resource.

Questions: after finishing OLMC what am I supposed to do?

How do I implement the Oly-lifts into my workout/training (MMA) schedule?

    How many reps?

    Sets?

    Length of rest break?

How do I progress (weight, reps, shorter rest breaks)?

If there are any other questions about integrating the Oly-lifts into my workouts consider them asked.

Comments: I was doing HFS before I started doing OLMC.

I had to stop doing HFS when I started because of time constraints.

I noticed however that my hip flexibility didn’t decrease at all.

With OLMC, as well as doing the KO Kicks routine before class, my hips feel as loose/looser than ever (even more than when I was learning and maintaining my splits using Kurz’s Flexibility Express DVD and his Stretching Scientifically book).

Thank you very much and anxiously awaiting your response, Sam Goldner

I recently started noticing that the outer part of my femur, hip bone was hurting during lateral movements such as splits, high round kicks, etc.

It is not possible for me to do any sort of lateral movement without (bone)pain ..and it definitely isn’t about flexibility.

It feels as though there is a block with sharp pain if I try to go even a little above a mid kick.

I’ve always been a very flexible person but I absolutely can’t get my kicks high anymore because it hurts so much.

I did some research and came across something called “acetabular impingement.”

In today’s QnA video, I answer the following questions:

Hi Eric, I did a grade 2 tear of my lcl while training bjj on the weekend.

Just wondering what I should be doing to strengthen and protect my knees going forward?

I’m so happy you brought us SFS and I’m currently working my rounded shoulder posture daily!

I’m already feeling responses from my body and I’m excited to look upon the results!

But one question; when I did the smr the last time my shoulder would crack repeatedly upon some positions.

Can I ignore this or should I stop this position when the cracking occurs?

WRIST Straps | SI Joint Issues [ASK ERIC]

In today’s QnA video, I answer the following questions:

Hello Eric, I just started your program a week ago and it is awesome. Thank You.

I just wanted to ask, what are your thoughts on using wrist straps?

Heavier weights but weaker grip strength. What are your thoughts on which is more important?

    Eric Baker, Omaha, USA [00:37]

    ===============

Hi Eric, I had been suffering from SI Joint dysfunction for the last year or so…joint seems to be staying in place now, but my lower back is still tight a lot.

If I lay on my front in be it tightens up pretty quickly. When I sneeze I have to dip my knees or if I’m sitting and sneeze one of my abs (someone every time) spasms…

Also deadlifting is pretty much a no go as it aggravates the tightness…any ideas?

My mate has your hip flexibility guide and was showing me a few stretches , is there anything you recommend that I sole focus on ?

In today’s QnA video, I answer the following questions:

Do you have some recommendations for differentiated/supplemental cardio?

I have rotator cuff tendonitis. I had stopped all upper body strength training.

Am starting back again with some easy kb clean and presses, push ups, pull ups and rows.

Wondering whether I should start you rotator cuff routine instead or wait until my shoulder is less sore? [05:31]

    Many thanks.

Strained Groin? | MED for HFS [ASK ERIC]

In today’s QnA video, I answer the following questions:

Any suggestions for strained inner thigh muscle?

Strained it doing side stretch after doing kick boxing.

    – Patricia MacKinnon [00:20]

    =======================

Hi Eric, I’ve been playing around with HFS for the last couple of months.

I started doing a full month of HFS by the book and got great results.

However, as a former athlete now turned desk jockey, I have plenty of areas that need additional corrective work (ankles, knees, rotator cuff & upper thoracic, etc) and between all of the corrective routines I am doing, its taking up a lot of my time.

Is there a “minimum effective dose” for HFS?

I was leaning towards trying to get 3 of the main routines in a week (2 kneeling/ 1 standing or vice versa) as well as 2x per week of core & ASMR.

Thanks again, and I’m looking forward to Shoulder Flexibility Solution.

Sprints for Fat Loss | 1-Sided Low Back Pain [ASK ERIC]

Alright so our weekly QnA segment is back and I’ve got a couple of questions that I answer today:

Eric, sprints for fat loss. How often in a week, and what is a great program ?

    – Grant Vaka [00:53]

    ========

Greetings Eric, I keep getting muscle spasms in my lower right side of my back.

It originated in fire academy back in 2003 doing old school alternating toe touches.

When it happens its very painful and I can’t move for a couple of weeks til it lets up.

My body pulls to the right and I look like a walking boomerang for about 2 weeks, then sharp pains when I straighten up til it goes away.

I’ve tried EVERY muscle relaxer, chiropractors, acupuncture, ibuprofen, PT, heat, cold and those electric shock muscle twitch things!
