[I really want your opinion on something really weird, but first, let’s get through the story, then you can leave your thoughts on this weird incident below…]
Last night, I was driving home from the gym.
It was a dark and dreary evening and I felt a different mood in the night…
I had just merged onto the highway home and this grey 4-door sedan in front of me was slowing down because some yellow sedan next to it was trying to merge and neither of them was taking the initiative to make it happen.
I was thinking, "Come on guys, get in already" when I looked back into my rearview mirror and I saw a pair of lights barreling towards me…
I quickly glanced in the driver’s side mirror to see if I could escape but there was no time and *BOOM* I got smashed!
My car spun once or twice ( I can’t quite remember) and I felt like I was floating in space as I was being thrown forwards.
A fleeting thought of, "Oh shit I hope nothing hits me" went through my mind as I was spinning and hurtling forwards but that’s all I can recall thinking at the time.
When my car finally came to a stop, I was luckily on the shoulder, but I was facing the wrong way.
I tried to open the door but it was stuck, so I lowered the window and climbed out.
I made my way across the highway to call 9-1-1 from a safe spot and the cops quickly came.
As of writing this (less than 12 hours since the accident) I feel pretty good.
A little stiff in the neck, but nothing serious, so don’t worry about me – I’ll be back to post killer exercise tips and all that stuff soon. 🙂
Here are a few pics of the carnage (click to view larger image):
In my shock I even took a quick vid which you can watch here:
At The Scene of the Crash Video
(It’s in QuickTime format, if you can’t watch it, no worries)
Here’s Where It Gets Really, REALLY Freaky…
After I got home and hugged my fiancee, she told me that before she left for work, she had a bad feeling…
Not only that, but she also (uncharacteristically) read the news online at work, because it was a slow day.
Usually she’d check her email or look for wedding dresses or shoes, you know typical fiancee stuff. 🙂
But she read the news and actually sent me a text message about an accident that happened AT THE EXACT SPOT WHERE I GOT INTO MY ACCIDENT!@#… just in case I was going that way so I could avoid traffic.
Coincidence or something more?
That’s what I want to know, so I have this question for you:
Have you ever had something happen where
you, or someone you love has had a ‘gut’
feeling like this and it turned out to be true?
I just read a book last week called ‘Intuition’ by Osho where he talks about how we are intuitive beings at birth, but it’s erased and inhibited through societal programming.
I thought it was interesting but have never had personal experience with intuition, until now.
So please, if you’ve had any experience with something like this, share your story below, or if you believe in intuition or not (and why), leave your thoughts in the Comments section below.
I’m really trying to understand if what my fiancee was feeling and her message to me was just a coincidence, or really was intuition.
Maybe if my fiancee and I trusted intuition more, I could’ve avoided this accident.
And if you know anyone who has had a similar experience, share this post with them because I’m very interested in hearing other stories.
ps. If anyone wants to buy some 16" rims to fit a Honda Civic or Acura Integra, please contact me. 🙂
