  • MMA Fitness Assessments Part 2

    Had a lot of people put their results into the first fitness assessment, which measured upper body push strength and endurance, great job!

    We’ll be taking a look at your lower body strength, power, and power endurance with these 3 tests.

    One of them will even tell us if you’re ready for the NBA or not.

    I’m sure you can guess what it is.

  • Strength and Conditioning Assessments

    All throughout our childhoods, we’ve been administered tests to measure such things as our math skills (I killed these – thank you Chinese genetics!), reading ability, knowledge of history, geography, and more.

    CB029645Pretty much every topic that we learned about, we were tested on.

    Although some may argue that these tests don’t say much about our intelligence, they are definitely better than nothing.

    After all, how do we know we’ve improved, if we don’t have a base level to compare against?

    In terms of strength and conditioning for mixed-martial arts, it seems that testing yourself is not very common.

    Instead, most guys are content to simply push themselves as hard as they can every workout and trust in blind faith that they’re improving their fitness for MMA.

    Unfortunately, this couldn’t be further from the truth.

    If you take MMA seriously, then you must keep an eye on your progress, to make sure your workouts are in fact working and that you’re getting stronger, more powerful, and improving your endurance.
